I've been slowly reading your posts. A mutual friend (I think Amy) pointed me to your blog. My partner and I had twins at 25 weeks, one of whom is very typically 3 and the other who has a trach, a mic-key g-tube, and cerebral palsy.
The spices on the tongue thing is brilliant. Grace has a huge oral aversion, but likes things with intense flavors (for example, prefers cranberry juice droplets to apple juice), so that might be a way to get moving towards taking food by mouth.
We do an entire diet of blended foods because formula was disgusting smelling and ridiculously expensive so I know she can tolerate and digest food. If only we could get over the hump of the texture in her mouth and what to do with it.

He has the most beautiful eyes! And Biff never smiled like that.
